Welcome to my blog dedicated to the city of Milan, Italy, where I invite you to discover two culinary essentials of the local cuisine: cafes and pizzas. Milan is a city filled with historic and trendy cafes, where you can enjoy flavorful espressos and cappuccinos, as well as delicious Italian pastries and baked goods. Milanese people are deeply connected to their coffee ritual, and it's a true way of life in this city. As for pizza, it's also a staple of Italian cuisine, and Milan is no exception. The city is brimming with pizzerias where you can savor crispy, soft pizzas topped with local and seasonal ingredients. In this article, I will introduce you to my favorite cafes and pizza spots in Milan. You will discover the most iconic addresses in the city, as well as the specialties not to be missed. Whether you're a coffee or pizza enthusiast, or simply curious to explore Milan's culinary culture, you will be captivated by this city rich in flavors and traditions.

BAR LUCE

I am going to introduce you to one of the most original and unusual places in the city: Bar Luce at the Fondazione Prada.

Located in the Largo Isarco district, Bar Luce is the creation of the renowned filmmaker Wes Anderson, known for his poetic and colorful universe. This café, nestled within the Fondazione Prada, is a true design gem that will delight cinema and culture enthusiasts alike.

Bar Luce is a meeting place where you can enjoy traditional Italian coffees, as well as pastries and cakes inspired by the 1950s and 1960s. The atmosphere is retro and playful, with pastel colors, geometric shapes, and references to art and cinema history.

I loved this little café, where we could step back in time for a meal! You will be enchanted by Bar Luce and its poetic universe.

LÙBAR :

One of the most surprising spots in the city: Lùbar café.

Located opposite the Indro Montanelli Garden, about a twenty-minute walk from the famous Sforza Castle, Lùbar café is a true architectural and design gem. Housed in a nineteenth-century greenhouse, this café offers a unique and enchanting setting where you can relax while enjoying quality coffee.

What makes Lùbar unique is its glass structure. The interior of the café is equally beautiful, with minimalist, sleek decoration and lush greenery that highlights the original architectural elements such as the arches and wrought-iron columns. The atmosphere is singular, with background jazz music adding to the experience, along with the fresh scent of the greenhouse plants, making Lùbar a must-visit spot for breakfast or a quick lunch.

Lùbar café is also renowned for the quality of its products, most of which are organic and locally sourced. Here, you can enjoy freshly squeezed juices, artisan pastries, and healthy and flavorful dishes made with seasonal ingredients, or artisanal ice creams in the summer!

Whether you're an architecture enthusiast, a coffee lover, or simply seeking a peaceful place to unwind, you will be captivated by Lùbar café and its unique ambiance.

Lùbar is a must-visit for all vegetarian and vegan food enthusiasts. The atmosphere is simply stunning, and the service is excellent. The food is delicious and healthy, making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch or a relaxed dinner. I highly recommend Lùbar to anyone looking for a magical and extraordinary place.

GIOLINA :

If you're looking for an authentic Italian culinary experience with a modern twist, Giolina is an excellent choice. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you're greeted by an elegant and vintage decor with dishes on the walls and wooden chairs that create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The service is attentive and friendly, and the servers are always ready to help you choose the best dishes for your evening. The restaurant's menu focuses on traditional Italian dishes with a creative touch. All the ingredients are fresh and of high quality, and each dish is presented artistically. I even went as far as having my pizza shaped like a heart... Isn't it cute? Upon arrival, the pizzas are very good with well-puffed edges! The portions are quite generous. All in all, Giolina is a must-visit restaurant for those seeking an authentic Italian experience. The elegant decor, attentive service, and delicious dishes make it an ideal choice for a romantic evening or a special occasion. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as this restaurant is often fully booked.

MARGHE :

Oh my goodness, let me tell you about this incredible pizzeria I discovered in Milan! It's the restaurant Marghe, located on Via Cadore. First of all, let me tell you that when it comes to pizza, I'm quite picky, so I've always been on the lookout for the best pizza I could find. And Marghe has certainly exceeded all my expectations! The restaurant is quite small but cozy with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone is smiling and friendly, and they make you feel at home as soon as you arrive. The most amazing thing about Marghe is their wood-fired pizza, which is simply divine. Every bite is a true gustatory pleasure! The menu offers a wide variety of artisanal pizzas, each prepared with fresh and top-quality ingredients. I opted for their pizza of the moment, with yellow tomato sauce, mozzarella, and asparagus: amazing and delicious! My boyfriend went for the traditional margherita! The crust was crispy and golden, while the topping was perfectly balanced and rich in flavors. The service was excellent, with servers always smiling and available.

You guessed it, Marghe is a must-visit pizzeria in Milan for all lovers of Neapolitan pizza. Their wood-fired pizza is simply incredible, and their creativity makes the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Marghe to anyone looking for authentic and delicious pizza in Milan!
